Gaining Confidence and Clinical Skills in Functional Medicine: One Practitioner’s Journey

Susan Friedman found her decades of experience as a chiropractor and nutrition consultant left her wanting more tools to help patients with complex health issues. As patients sought her out for weight loss solutions, she noticed they presented with multitudes of related symptoms that required a comprehensive approach.

After researching various programs, Susan chose Functional Medicine Fast Track (FMFT) because it offered exactly what she sought – hands-on clinical training, guidance on building a functional medicine practice, and personal coaching along the way. As a practitioner trained long ago, Susan was particularly concerned about expanding her clinical knowledge to current standards.

Fortunately, Susan found the FMFT program delivered tremendously on building clinical foundations. Each week added new concepts to existing course material in a scaffolded manner designed for optimal comprehension. Review tools allowed for self-paced learning of dense topics.

What Susan valued most were the live Q&A sessions and case presentations. Hearing real patient cases brought the material to life by demonstrating intake, assessment, and customized plan development. This allowed Susan to observe clinical reasoning in action and feel prepared to apply her new skills.

Now working with patients using a functional medicine approach, Susan says she picks up on more subtleties to craft truly individualized plans. She exudes confidence in her abilities to support clients at a higher level toward health goals. Susan’s eventual aim is to establish a virtual practice for flexibility – goals which FMFT has fully equipped her to achieve, along with ongoing mentorship.

For any practitioner considering expanding into functional medicine but needing a comprehensive solution, Susan strongly recommends discussing options with the FMFT advising team. This program delivered confidence and competence far beyond Susan’s expectations for profoundly helping patients.
